Motorcycle parking in Lambeth
Lambeth runs from the South Bank down through Vauxhall, Kennington, Brixton, Clapham and Streatham, which is a long way from one end to the other and a very different parking problem at each end. We hold 238 motorcycle bays across the borough, plus 28 car parks that also take bikes.
What we have mapped
| On our map | Count |
|---|---|
| Motorcycle bays | 238 |
| Marked spaces in those bays | 110 |
| Car parks that also take bikes | 28 |
| Of those car parks, free | 5 |
Not every bay has a published capacity, so the number of marked spaces is lower than the number of bays rather than higher. It counts only the bays where a capacity is recorded.
The Waterloo and Vauxhall end is the hard part
North Lambeth sits inside the Congestion Charge zone boundary at its northern tip and carries commuter demand all day. Motorcycles do not pay the Congestion Charge, which is one of the reasons bike parking near Waterloo fills early. Further south, around Brixton, Streatham and West Norwood, bays are easier to find but more spread out, so it is worth checking the map before you set off rather than circling.
How do you pay?
Through the provider named on the plate beside the bay, which across most of London means RingGo. Nothing goes on the bike, because wardens check by number plate. SoloBay shows the location number for each bay and opens the payment app with it already filled in.
When do you have to pay?
During the controlled hours printed on the plate. They change from street to street, so read the plate rather than assuming the borough is the same throughout. Do not stay longer than the maximum stay on the sign.

Bay locations for Lambeth come from OpenStreetMap, which is mapped by volunteers rather than published by the council, so treat counts as a guide and the sign at the bay as the authority. Where we hold council data, as in Westminster and Camden, we say so. Checked October 2026.
