Motorcycle parking in Westminster
Westminster has more motorcycle bays than any other London borough, 723 on our map. It charges to use them, but it is cheap, and one payment covers every bay in the borough.

This is a permit for solo motorcycle bays, not a charge per bay. Pay for the day and you can move between bays anywhere in Westminster as often as you like.
Riders routinely pay twice because nothing at the bay tells them this.
Since 1 October 2025 each payment app adds its own service charge, up to a maximum of 30p per transaction.
Do electric motorcycles pay?
No. Fully electric motorcycles park free in Westminster's solo motorcycle bays. Hybrids do not count. The exemption only covers the motorcycle bays: an electric bike in an ordinary pay to park bay pays the zonal charge like anyone else.
When do you have to pay?
In zones A, B, C and D the bays are for motorcycles only at all times. In zones E, F and G they are for motorcycles only between 7am and 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and other vehicles can use them outside those hours. The plate beside each bay shows the hours when payment is needed, so always read it.
How do you pay?
Use RingGo, PayByPhone or JustPark. The location number for Westminster motorcycle bays is 6789. Choose the period you want from the list. Nothing goes on the bike, because wardens check by number plate. You can also text 07860 022205 or call 020 7125 9090.
What can park in a solo motorcycle bay?
Powered two wheelers only. Trikes and quads are not allowed in Westminster's solo motorcycle bays.
Can you use an ordinary pay to park bay?
Yes. A motorcycle can park in a standard pay to park bay, but you pay the normal zonal rate for that bay, and your motorcycle bay permit is not valid there. A motorcycle bay is almost always cheaper.
Resident permits
Westminster residents can buy a motorcycle resident permit for £61.59 a year. It covers every motorcycle bay in the borough, resident and shared use bays in your own zone, and pay to park bays during the first and last hour of controls.
